“I am interested in life’s vulnerable moments and thoughtful connections. By using distorted features and intense color combinations, I want to convey a quirky and empathetic narrative that I hope resonates with other people.”
Stephanie Collins Barker is a Contemporary artist, living and working near Houston with her husband, two kids, and two dogs. She has studied, taught, and created art for over twenty-five years. Her art is inspired by human fragility and the emotional bridges that keep us fulfilled. She often blends a twisted or disproportionate subject matter with an earthy, sophisticated color palette. The images have been called “haunting and beautiful”.
Steph holds a Bachelors Degree in Art Education from Lindenwood University and a Masters Degree from Missouri State University, specializing in Painting.
